Hello! My name is Jess, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor associate under the supervision of Jen Meyer, LPC-S, LPHA. I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Integrated Studies at the University of North Texas. I have 3 years of experience working in mental health in various settings. I have worked with a wide range of clients including adolescents, adults, and families with concerns involving substance use, trauma and abuse, self-harm, and family and interpersonal conflict. I have extensive experience working in crisis situations, have provided group therapy in a crisis residential setting, and work in Denton County to provide intensive, therapeutic services to juveniles and their families to promote behavior change in the youth’s environment. I am passionate about creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can work through their struggles and set goals to improve their well-being. I have training in DBT, mindfulness, trauma-informed care, EMDR (upcoming!), multisystemic therapy, family systems, collaborative problem-solving, and motivational interviewing. As a counselor, I utilize a holistic approach to improve mind, body, and spirit.
I am a born and raised Texan and raise my 4 kiddos in Krum, TX. In my spare time, I enjoy Yoga, hiking, spending time with family and friends, and shopping of course! I am happy to offer a free, 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs and decide if I am the right therapist for you.
