ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
MA., LPC, EMDR Certified
Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and received my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. I received my BA in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University in Southern California. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and couples.
My passion is understanding you in relation to your environment. Maybe you’re feeling stuck and unsatisfied…maybe your life and close relationships feel challenging despite your best efforts…or maybe you’re struggling with how things are and wishing they were different. Together we will gently explore your challenges while understanding how they affect how you feel and what you do.
I believe the brain is always searching for connection and safety in our relationships and our daily experiences. Often, feeling unsafe or disconnected creates thoughts and behaviors that increase distress and relational conflict. I strive to help adolescents, adults, and couples access their inner strengths and resources to cope with their challenges and feel confident in who they want to become.
My goal is to give you a positive counseling experience that encourages you to reach your fullest potential through self-exploration and self-acceptance.
My therapeutic approach is tailored to the specific needs and goals of each client and often includes education about stress responses, coping skills, nutrition, and mindfulness. Additionally, I provide EMDR to help process painful events of the past that might be affecting your beliefs today. In the past, I gained training and experience at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton County. Here I worked with families, children, and a collaborative group of various other professionals to meet the needs of victims of abuse and promote healing.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my blended family of eight children and two grandchildren. When not entertaining my family, I can be found at the gym, walking my dogs, or just hanging out on the patio.
